Contrast Finder online tool distance value

Hello forum,

I am using the contrast finder online tool and I am trying to find information on what the distance value means. Is it similar to a delta e calculation from the international commission on illumination? Is there an online tool that can provide a list of color options and a delta e equivalent for showing how similar or different the original color is to the new generated list of colors?

Thank you for your question and welcome on the forum!

The distance is actually delta e. Based on Wikipedia: color difference, we use the Euclidian distance with RGB components.
